Pointed bullets .25, .30 and .35 Remington

Post by Hardrada55 »

I was looking on the IAA website and their collection of catalogs. I discovered in the Remington 1911-12 catalog that Remington used to offer "pointed bullets" in their .25 Remington, .30 Remington and .35 Remington cartridges. I knew about the .25 Remington with the .101 grain pointed bullet (M.V. 2330 fps) but I did not know that early on Remington loaded .30 Remington cartridges with a 151 grain pointed bullet and .35 Remington with a 170 grain pointed bullet. I looked to see if they offered a pointed bullet for the .32 Remington cartridge but did not see anything other than the 165 grain round nose cartridge.

Has anyone an example of the 151 grain pointed bullet in the .30 Remington or a 170 grain pointed bullet in the .35 Remington. Any information about muzzle velocity for these loadings?

I have a partial older box (16 rounds) of Remington Kleanbore Hi-Speed(not Express) 300 Savage 150 grain Bronze Point Bullet. It is the older green and red DuPont box. Index number is 7430 and the bullets do have very sharp bronze points.
