Has anyone tried Speer 110 grain JHP's in .30?

I've had really good luck with them in .30 '06, and would think launching them at ~2,800 FPS from a model 8 would do the trick on just about anything I'd need to shoot. Anyone have any experience?

I don't think you can get them up taht fast in the Model 8. I have Waters pet loads and he could only get 2500 with the gardiner 115 slugs with 34 grains of IMR 3031. Like a lot of cartridges you run into the pressure curve before you get the velocity. You can push a 150 almost as fast as a lighter bullet. I an using Hornady 123's made for the SKS and sized down to 308 for the 30 Remington and 2500 seems to be the breaking point. They do group under 3" at 100 yars with the factory irons so I am happy with them for coyotes, at least until I can get a 25 Remington!

My load data is a bit dated, I was paging through the Lyman 45th edition. Out of a 26" barrel, 33 grains of reloader 11 gives 2602fps at 30,000 CUP, and 37.5 grains gives 2900 at 38600 CUP.
