30 REM ammo crate

Post by Hibby83 »

I have no horse in this race, I'm just sharing this for your viewing pleasure.

That's the first crate of autoloading ammo that I've seen for sale online.

Thanks, A Remington 8 and 81 collector from New Jersey had a box like that back in 2011.

that leads me to question the listing. The seller having no feedback had me suspicious.

I threw a low bid and then, I inquired about the shipping cost. The "New Register" Seller stated the cost from VA. to MI. was going to be a whopping $175. The last wooden case I saw like this, sold at auction for $2,000 and it's getting close to that now. Enjoy Life, Bob at S and S HUNTCLUB

Ditto's on that. I have two 81's in 300 Savage, would like to get a nice one in 35 Remington, but buying any 8/81 in any other caliber is a NO with me due to rare availability and price of ammo and brass. I would buy any of the other calibers if the rifle was in nice shape and not over priced and resell it for a profit though. I've yet to buy any factory ammo for my 300's, reload for all rifles I have except 22 LR's. (Exception though if when buying anything other than Sav 300 and 35 Rem, if a good quantity of new or one fired brass was available and reasonable $$--talking at least around 300 rounds, plus that be better yet.) :D

Saw a Remington 114 at a gun show today (rare in my area), the condition set me back for one thing-to many hole's in the receiver (D and T), but the 30 Remington caliber was the other no buy other killer.

$3501 + Shipping. $3.7? a round. These probably will never be fired. I`m glad that I own two model 8`s in 30Rem.I shoot mine for much less than that.....just the cost of the powder, primer and bullet and the enjoyable time reloading. My favorite chambering outside the 25Rem. Shoot all day and it doesn`t beat you up.

Hey there Joe, I’m sure glad to see you back on the forum. I look at it most days, but don’t post anything much of the time. Good to hear from you again.
I have a lot of 30 Remington ammunition, factory and reloads. But I’d be suspicious about this listing
