Model 8 in 30-30?

Post by doublecanister »

I remember reading that some early Model 8's were chambered in 30-30, possibly for special order. Can someone confirm? Has anyone seen one for sale?

Thanks.

A Model 8 in "30-30" wasn't a special order, this was a production caliber NOT to be confused with the 30-30 Winchester. The Model 8's, upon close inspection, are marked "30-30 REM" which is simply a 30 Remington. Remington changed the name early into production to bar confusion, which continues on to this day!!
