EXTREME JACKITIS !!!!!

Post by f.a.b. »

I was at the Louisville gun show when JACKITIS hit me. A cold sweat
came over me -- my eyes glazed over - I jumped from my chair and hit
show row after row looking for just one more Model 8. Back and Forth
when I could feel i was close to the prize !!! I moved in like a eagle
on its prey- The cost was not important !! I wanted it and I would have
it !! I got back to my table, flopped down in my chair with the gun on
my lap. It took some time for my mind and eyes to clear so I could look
over my great prize. I had a good idea what it was -- EARLY MODEL 8 - 25
CAL. - F GRADE ??? I looked down and -- WHAT IS THIS !!!! How can I
explain it -- ONLY ONE WAY -- !!! JACKITIS !!!!

Rick was kind enough to let me hold it and it's every bit as good looking in hand as it is in the pics.

Well it looks like you need some parts and a little bit of lumber. All is well that ends well.
You are dedicated. ;)

Jack you should be proud.....the man rescued such a rare Model 8.....one that was found in the hull of the Titanic!

I'm all for parts guns, but this one might be better off as a giant paperweight or crude hammer.

And let this be a lesson to all of us, when "Jackitis" strikes, it's indiscriminate as to gun grade, caliber, or CONDITION!

I've learned the hard way that it's better to pay up front than out back....I try to avoid beat up guns since I am not a craftsman or 'smith.

I do buy beat up guns if it's only cosmetic and I intend to carry, hunt with, or use those for home defense. In such roles, they are bound to take their share of lumps so a nice exterior is a bonus only.

If you get this thing working, let us know!
