Advantage of Full Buckhorn rear sight?

Post by 81police »

This goes out to you guys who've had experience with full buckhorn rear sights. What are the advantages and/or disadvantages of them over a conventional notched rear sight?

The full buckhorn acts sort of like a peep to the eye. I think it helps especially on moving targets.

Agree, lot more to "see" when aiming - even for a paper-punching cowboy.

Rem81auto's view is on target, the high sides curving partly over the top do create sort of a modified rear sight yet leaves enough open as infuncity says to see more target. Digressing a little from the question, a peep sight this far down the barrel is hard to use without crawling up the stock.
