This 4 1/2 year old 10 pt buck was taken on State land in Roscommon County on the 5th day of the season at 4:00 p.m. with my Grandpa's .35 rem model 8. My Grandpa first began using this rifle in the mid 1930's, and I have been using it since 1974.

Wow! That's great! What load/bullet did you use? What was the range? It must not have been too far as the trees look pretty thick in the first image. I daresay you didn't lose much meat either. :D Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Fred. It was much thicker than the background. He was 30-31 yards away, facing me in a low depression. The head/neck was the only thing I could see and sight in on. I had no time to think and I was probably lucky, one inch below eye, and yes, no meat was wasted. I was using a 35 Remington express soft point 200 grain bullet. I Luv my model 8 and usually hunt alder thickets.
