Post by 81police »

Thanks to forum member S & S Huntclub , we have added 3 more really cool vintage Model 8 hunting pictures. These have been uploaded in the gallery section, see if you can find the one with the mountain lion...ultra cool! Hint: it's on "page 2"

Way cool. Thanks for adding these and thanks to Bob for sharing them. Our old model 8`s/81`s are in great company with the Winchesters and model 14 Remingtons. Page one at end of third row down the fellow with the buckskin jacket appears to be holding a Ross rifle. Great company indeed! Also see where the good looks in your family came from.Good to see" Mister Kenny" didn`t need an AR to hunt deer

That's probably because the Model 81 was the "AR15" of it's day! The whole family got semi-auto love! :D

Glad you enjoyed the photos Joe :)

True enough that it was the AR of the day.One day I hope to have one of those 15 round mags and a carbine version like you displayed in the video. Have to change my assessment on the buckskin jacket fellow`s rifle. Found a way to zoom in on it and believe it is a sporterized mauser.

Hello Olskool, The three pictures are still there sir. They're the first three picture on the Gallery Page, under "Vintage Pictures".
P.S. Olskool, I just saw the picture you posted of the beautiful Whitetail Buck that you were blessed with this morning. (October 15, 2016). Congratulations on harvesting a very nice Whitetail with your 1938 Remington Model 81 in 35 Rem. caliber. I truly do appreciate the awesome picture sir. It gets me very excited for Michigan's November 15, 2016 firearm opening day. Thanks for the great picture of your buck!!! :D
Enjoy Life, Bob @ S and S HUNTCLUB
