I cannot find any serial numbers on the forearms of my Model 8's. Did the factory mark the forearms like the stocks, or not?
Also, will the Model 81 Schnabel forearm fit on a Model 8?

The only standard grade Model 8 forearms I have seen marked are a few early rifles. Most of them are not marked, unless they are a high grade rifle where they will have the serial number and a letter denoting the grade.
You cannot swap forearms on Model 8/81's (you can swap barrel assemblies however). Model 8 forearm screws have a smaller thread diameter than Model 81's. If you attempted to use a a Model 81 screw with a Model 8 forearm you will find the 81 screw will not fit through the Model 8's forearm escutcheon.
