Hello All! My name is Dan and I am from Northeast Pennsylvania. I recently acquired a nice Remington model 8 in 35 Rem and I am looking for historical information as well as a butt plate. The rifle has a semi-pistol or prince of wales style grip and a butt shaped like the one in the picture at the top of the forum. Rifle has a serial number of an F over 26213. Any info on parts of historical value would be greatly appreciated. The rifle shoots and functions well.

Hey Dan, the best place for replacement parts may be watching auction sites like gunbroker or ebay. Buttplates of varying types are on there regularly.

The curvature is close but my rifle does not have any inletting for the toe spur at the bottom of the butt stock. Thank you for trying, greatly appreciated.

Whoa, if it's not inletted for the toe on top or bottom then it had a plastic buttplate. Unless it is one that had a "S" curve military style plate. If so the stock will be fitted (carved) to slide into the plate with mount screw blocks glued in the holes drilled in the butt. I've one like this. The SCurve plate is almost impossible to find.
