semi pistol grip M8s

Post by chas1949 »

Does anyone have the numbers of these produced vs the straight grip M8s.
As for the M8C is it only the checkered stocks that differentiate these from an M8 semi pistol grip?

The 8 C we have seems to have a higher grade of wood on it. I know its factory because the cutout in the stock is marked 8 C.

Sir, I believe that the 8c rifles came with English walnut. They also had finer checkering, versus the deluxe checkered 8 a rifles. My 8c also has a factory grip cap. It may have been on it originally, but it may have been done at the factory when they refinished the wood and rechased the checkering. It is marked with a 3 (cgrade) early production. It is a round knob.
Thanks for your time
