Early Model 8 Firing Pin

Post by GBSacco »

I just purchased an early Model 8 (1912 ish) and it did not have the firing pin or retainer pin.
Came from California so they made it comply. Its in great shape and I think this may be why.

I purchased a firing pin but am not sure if I got the early or late model pin.

Anyone have a picture of the early model pin?

Any where can I get the early model pin and retainer pin?

Thanks

Living in california and my knowledge of this states firearm laws has me baffled as to why removing the firing pin made it compliant with what? A gun with out a firing pin is still legally a functional gun according to the law, receivers are what are state is so picky about as to the parts http://www.gunpartscorp.com/Manufacture ... esults=All

Search recent prior posts( past 3 or 4 mos.) and you will find discussions on this subject and photos for you to compare. Also wonder what the California compliant business refers to.

The post office and I think FED EX ask you to remove the firing pin before you ship. I actually thought at first that's what he did and I rummaged thru the trash to see if I may had thrown it away but after contacting the seller he said he shipped as is. It was his late fathers and that's all he knew. He did send me a check for the 25 dollars for a new firing pin I got off of Ebay I just want to make sure its safe.

I was kinda making a joke about the California compliance.

So how did it work out? Do you have a shooter now? I just love a good drama. ;)
