Anyone have a lead to secure a new forearm and stock with the round pistol grip and checkered for Mdl 81?
Like that round pistol grip.

EBay has a new, unfinished stock like you want in the $35 range.
I am the cat who walks by himself. And all places are alike to me.

Sir,
The round knob model 8 stocks won't work on the model 81 . The the lower tangs are a completely different bend.
Thanks for your time,
Roger

Re: New Replacement Wood
I heard that Turnbull manufacturing (I think that's the name) can make a stock for anything. I know they make high end 1911's so I expect them to be very expensive. The Model 8 I just won on Gunbroker may need a new set of stocks due to a lot of sanding in the (far) past. I may spring for a nice wood grain if I can afford it and the rifle works well.
