Very early 30 cal

I have my grandfather's model 8 in .30 cal. Serial # is 4404, manufactured in 1907. Does anyone know if it's possible to track the life of this gun.... from date of manufacture to where it was initially shipped from factory? I think my grandfather was the first owner, but it would be fun to know. Thanks.
