Were the barrel assemblies on Model 8's & 81's hand fitted to each receiver or are they able to be installed on a different receiver without any worry of headspace problems? I realize you would need to stay with the same size cartridge head because of the bolt. I just thought a switch-barrel rifle in a couple of calibers would be cool.
Thanks,
Jerry

Jerry,
Good question and as you might imagine that idea has been kicked around here a few times. Many here can give you the pros and cons of such a project. The above link to a prior post is the upper limit of such an endeavor. Our friend Jack,of "Jackitus"fame surely established the bench mark with this. It is worth another look for those that have seen it. If this is your first view,be prepared for drooling.

Joe,
Thanks for the link. That truly is one beautiful outfit. I especially like the attention paid to all the small details.
I wasn't planning anything that elaborate, but it does inspire me to continue on.
Thanks again,
Jerry
