So I have ordered a scope mount with 1 inch rings for a Model 8/81 from a member here.
I also realize a lot of deer kills happen late in the day or under overcast skies.....I'd like an illuminated reticle.
Is there a quality scope maker (Nikon, Leupold, etc.) that makes a 4x or 6x rifle scope, illuminated reticle, in a 1 inch tube?
Thanks!

Re: 1 inch scope question
There are several to choose from. The one inch tube is common. Be prepared to pay as much for the scope as you did for the rifle. What mount do you have? The style of scope you may want to use will have an effect on what you can get with an illuminated reticle. Some scope configurations can cause ejection issues on the M8/M81 rifles.

Re: 1 inch scope question
I'm OK with the cost as I think a good scope just has that sort of price.
Can you link me to any 1" scopes that are illuminated and would do well with the Model 81?

Depending on where your mount places the scope in relation to the ejection path of the fired cases one like this may work. I considered one of these for my M81 but I don't think it would work with my mount.
