WINDAGE ADJUSTMENT

Post by eagles »

Am going to put Dockendorff front sight on my model 8 with the Lyman aperture sight ,Since the Lyman has no windage adjustment what are you all using to move the front sight so the sight is not damaged and you can move it a little at a time ? The old V notch rear sights apparently had no windage either so I guess everyone was into drifting the front sight like a muzzle loader ?

I use a brass pin punch and small hammer. Drift until group is center. I like to set it at 100 yards on a fairly calm day.

Thanks I will get one . I usually sight in at 25 yards , then go to longer ranges for trajectory settings . Use less ammo like that.
