357 MAGNUM AMMO IN .35 MOD 8 ???
357 MAGNUM AMMO IN .35 MOD 8 ???
Somewhere recently, I read that 357 magnum pistol ammo will shoot safely, one at a time, in a 35 mm Model 8. Did I dream that or is there some fact behind it? Thanks, Jim...

FALSE!!!
You can HANDLOAD 357 pistol bullets (the projectile, not ammuntion) into 35 Remington cartridges for lower power plinking type loads. There is load data in reloading manuals for this. The 357 Remington Magnum will not fit properly in a 35 Remington chamber.
Also, it is 0.358 inches in diameter, not 35 mm. 35 mm is equivalent to 1.38 inches.
