Your gun was one of 2,146 shipped from the factory in 1914.

THANK YOU SIR! verified by a very nice Lady at Remington today. She said early 1914.

as a noob to this early a rifle what should I do ...clean with Kroil or Remoil... she has some surface rust... was found under insulation in an attic upstate NY. Would a thorough going over by a gunsmith be in order? Would be a hoot if it was able to send lead downrange but is it too old to ask that of her?

In process of a "pro" detail strip and clean. Remove as much rust as possible without a re-blue...rough up the wood alittle... when back i'll post pics.
