Butt Stock Assmebly Issue/Question

Post by Wildgoose »

Hey All,
Got the reciever all reassembled, lubed and it is much smoother functioning now. I also know the condition of the internals, bolt lugs, ect. I was feeling pretty proud of myself until I went to replace the butt stock. :? For the life of me I could not get the stock all the way back on and get the tang screw started. Its so close as to be all but there but just not quite enough. I am very hesitant to start whittling on the inside of the the orginal stock as the fit up is so nice and tight and I dont want to create another problem trying to solve this one. :| Any tricks, suggestions or something I am missing? You guys here have done this a bunch of times I am sure so I though it was time to ask instead of trying anything desprate.

You may already have solved your problem. I just removed and replaced my M81's buttstock. I did have to give a light blow to the buttplate with a rubber mallet to get it seated all the way, but other than that, no problems.
