For 35rem the RCBS 35-200 have pretty much always fit each other.
You should be able to buy them ready-made from vendors online. IIRC montana bullet works is a reputable place. But buying cast projectiles can become expensive. Might do you good to do a cost/benefit analysis

I'd be happy to make some for forum members. You (and everyone else) would have to wait though.
If you really really want one now I can sell you the one that's on my M81. I won't be using it for a while.

Take some news paper and some heavy duty vice grips. Fold the news paper over a few times to make some sacrificial soft jaws for the vice grips. Wrap up the take down screw head so that you can lock the vice grips on and then give it a turn. You might try the heat and penetrating oil first. You migh...

I would be careful with molten KNO3 and things like aluminum not to mention any organic matter. Pot. Nitrate is a very good oxidiser which is why it's used for black powder.... In my opinion you're playing with things worse than fire.

Re: Any way to improve accuracy on my 35Rem Mod 81?
An update. I tried a few more handloads, jacketed and cast, and some factory jacketed ammo and it holds about a pie-pate at 100yds. I tried my same loads in a Contender single shot and they all do far better at the same range. So I guess my Model 81 is just not destined to give me the accuracy I wan...

Re: Any way to improve accuracy on my 35Rem Mod 81?
Monkeying around with the rifle some more, I noticed that the ocular on the, admittedly cheap, scope was loose and the sight picture was sloppy, so I figured I'd try something else. Light weight, low-profile and very shock/recoil resistant: Burris reflex sight. If it works as well as it has on my 10...

Thanks for the suggestions. I've had the gun totally apart, cleaned, function checked, lubed and reassembled. I've been tinkering with my 81 in 35rem and it's not grouping well at all with factory or handloads, jacketed or cast (~6" at 70yards with iron sights or scope). So, can anyone recommend a procedure for accurizing the 8/81s or am I just out of luck? I don't need it to be a tack driver, just a f...

How many rounds do you guys put through one gun in a year? I've got a cast bullet single shot carbine that I'll put maybe 1000 rounds through a year and another long range bolt that will see another 1000 or more. Low pressures make the brass last many reloads. Neck-sizing and annealing the necks ex...

While I have no .25Rem reloading experience, unless you have no other powders available, I too would suggest a smaller amount of faster-burning powder. Clean burning powder is more important for an autoloader than single or bolt-action rifles. If you're determined to use H4350, then I'd use heavy-fo...

Re: How to modify other cartridge cases to use in Model 8 &
Adam, 303brit's SAAMI operating pressure (45,000cup) is higher than .35Rem and really the only modification to the 303Brit is to turn off the rim and cut a shallow extractor groove. At 35rem pressures, the modification should present no issue if done right. There are several 'modern' manufacturers o...

Re: Hornady 200gr FTX Lever Evolution Ammo?
I've found a great amount of accuracy is lost when the barrel nut and barrel jacket bushing become worn. Just like the colt 1911 platform. Understandably. .002" slop at the end the muzzle is worth about 1/4" at 100 yards. The tighter the assembly the less deviation there will be down range.

Re: Hornady 200gr FTX Lever Evolution Ammo?
Burried around down in those links somewhere was a good reference that Hornady makes ammo to SAAMI pressure spec. The pressure spec for .35Rem is around 33, 500cup. The Model 81 is also chambered in 300Savage whose pressure spec is 46,000cup and has a larger case head/body than the .35Rem. A larger ...

Yes, the Hornady isn't cheap. Honestly, I'm not sure any of it is anymore. But if you reload then a box or two of the Hornady should provide some brass to keep feeding the 8 until a 'seasonal' run of 35 Rem brass or the old Remington and Winchester ammo hits the shelves again.

I want a 'mouse fart' load using a very heavy cast bullet going subsonic that will still stabilize as well as (gently) operate the action. If I can get away without a gascheck I'd prefer it. So I'm interested in your experience with the heavies.
Sorry I'm of no other assistance.
