Test Firing

Took both my Model 8 30 REM out for a test firing today. My Grampa's 1911 30 Rem and my 1907 30 REM performed flawlessly. What a kick in the pants. I enjoyed shooting them so much, that I burnt up a whole box of vintage ammo. I am going to have to find another source for more ammo, or start reloadin...

Bob makes great replacement stocks...I have purchased two fore ends from him, and have been extremely happy with them. Very nice looking rifle!!! You will enjoy that one for sure.

I just bought one yesterday that looks just like it, except it has a Weaver scope, and the Krieger conversion on the clip.

Well.... After looking a little closer at these 25 Rem that are up for sale, I have some questions, observations and comments. By the number of bids being levied on these three 25's, they must be quite rare. Are they hard to find? And, secondly, why are they so prized? The first one has the most bid...

Very nice..... I think that I would prefer the heat method over the boiling with the degreaser solution. My grandfather's model 8 serial #22470 indicates that it was mfg. sometime in 1911. The receiver is stamped 25 REM and sometime in it's life it was changed to 30 REM.
