Just glad you guys are both ok. Carl, I definitely feel the sorrow of your neighbor. We had something called a duratio,wrong spelling ,last year. It was complete devastation for many here in central Iowa. Just remember that you have a friend in Iowa.

Hey guys, I also noticed the buttplate is rem/umc marked. Comepletely out of order. Either the plate or stock are replaced. Or something else is amiss here.
However,if it is truly number 10, then it is certainly a rare piece.

I have to agree. I’ve hunted deer in every caliber of M8s and M81s. The only time recoil was any problem for me, was testing hand loads at the bench in the rest of the year. When a deer is in your sights, running or standing,you don’t notice any recoil.

Sir, I also have used the ftx bullets to reload for 35 Remington. Also used the Hornady factory ammunition. They all worked well in my m8/81s,several different ones. I’d definitely recommend it for deer hunting. It kills them right now.

So maybe it was discontinued between 1927 and 1932. I’m sure coyote hunters loved that round. However it must not have sold very well.

I’m sorry,but none of my books even list this 110 gr. Loading. The earliest book is 1932. So it may have been discontinued before that.
