Sounds like a pretty good deal to me. I would think the ammo is worth close to half of what you paid. The small swivel is in fact not a swivel it is just the takedown screw. Dennis

John, nice job on bringing the old gun back to life. I think the 23-35 Rem and the 25 Rem are no different. The 35 was dropped to stop the confusion with the Winchester 25-35 cartridge.

Nice FN, and not really wanting to toss the proverbial turd in the punch bowl. I am thinking it's been refinished. I also do not believe FN's had the hole in the back of the receiver to accept tang sights.... someone correct me if I'm wrong. I have been wrong before.

The 1906 Catalog I have offers a case for sale. The link to the 34 in case is IMHO a shotgun case. I think and again just my opinion any takedown case measuring 24 in. to 25 in. would be correct no matter who made it.

The full buckhorn acts sort of like a peep to the eye. I think it helps especially on moving targets.
