Produced from 1909 to 1936 with a run of 800,000 . Your 400,000 serial # puts it for fair guestamating at the halfway point of production. Mid 20`s perhaps. Maybe someone has more precise info.

Ok..Not knowing the type finish and whether you are seeking to save it from a refinish will determine what to use. Can`t wait to see em up close the end of July at the Great8 event in Taylorville. Hope Jack will let us shoot the short barreled 30Rem(I`m bringing some ammo). Has to be a little milder than the carbine in 35Rem he let me shoot last year.
