I buffed the powder off of them. I shot several of the .25's no problem.
We will not shoot anymore of the 30's in the one box, but have others to try out.

I also shot the .25 Remington and have a split case as well as one misfire, well two because one of these misfired before. The misfires were from an old box of Western. We also shot these Remington 30 Remington, not a full box either about 14 rounds. Two split case necks. Now I've seen this on occasion over the years, and not always with older ammo.

I had a .32 barrel assembly and made up a few loads, but I'm not sure if I recorded them. No I didn't, but do have a load listed for the .32 Special 28.0 Reloader 7.

My 45th Lyman Manual lists in the reference section 32 Remington 170 Grain Jacketed: IMR 4064 28.0-32.0

Back when these rifles were made, at least the Model 8 the gun companies made what they calculated to be correct for the purpose, not like today or say since WWII where most threads are a standardized pitch and dia. So maybe these screws may very well be slightly larger then #6 or actually a fractio...

See if the top of the magazine has been squished in any, otherwise I don't know. I don't think I'd mess with the side spring any.

I've seen the safety levers listed on eBay periodically. The welded one listed is probably junk, you can not but that kind of weld on a part like that without it warping. I think there might be one listed on GunBroker, I did a "saved search" on Model 8 parts a week or so back, and IIRC one...

I am inclined to disagree that an anemic load will not cause weak ejection. When cycling the action to unload the rifle you are only actuating the bolt. I suppose so by changing the bolt head, and barrel assembly. Not sure about the magazine, but I imagine the side springs are different.

Like an old rock band or movie star these Remington's have a clique following, we only have 5 of them.
We have one that was my dad's although he didn't buy it new its been in the family since my brother and I were tots, so it has sentimental value, and it is a Model 8-C in .35 Remington.

Some reloading manuals state in the cartridge information that the 30-30 data is okay for the .30 Remington.
I bought an older Lyman manual #45 to get some data on the .38 Super and in the back there is a section with data for the .30 & .32 Rem.

Well we made it to the rifle range last weekend and brought some Model 8s with us. Originally we were going to bring them all, but only brought the two 30 Remington's and the .23-35. I didn't shoot the most recent acquisition but my brother did and he said it shot pretty good.

That's interesting my Model 8 25-35 was also made in 1908, 11932. Not as nice as your, bore is a little rough from the old corrosive ammo, but if I try real hard it will shoot pretty good with my loads. Mine had a tang sight, but I put a receiver sight on it.

Well I just tried to load up some .30 Remington with a Hornady 125 FMJ. The case is too long for these bullets. You might want to try the Hornady 160 grain FTX for the 30-30 in the .30 Remington. IMO: No.
It looks to me like a homemade stock and the wood doesn't even resembles walnut, and has a grain pattern much like more common woods used for general construction. If homemade it looks like a pretty good job.

IMO it would be better to feed from the magazine as it seems that the cartridge rim can slip under the extractor rather then be forced over it.
IIRC there should be a hammer bushing in these guns.

We have a model 8 C that was my Dad's. I'm pretty sure it has been metal has been refinished, but whomever did it did an excellent job.
The barrel jacket isn't marked "C" but the buttstock is, so I'm pretty sure its original.
