If I read the signs aright, LXX3 is a repair code from feburary 1952. The rifle was sent to Remington and fixed.

I don't know what the other one is. Pics would definitely help.

Re: Thread pitch on M81 rear sight screws?

The reflex sight was me in 2014. It was a quick and dirty modified weaver rail to try and eliminate the other sight systems as culprit for poor accuracy, and now I'm looking to do it right on a replacement barrel/jacket. I have a drilled-and-tapped receiver already and the offset scope is the worst...

Re: New .30 Rem brass splitting necks !?

What is the Ken Waters load? Ken's pet load for .30 Rem is 32 grains of IMR3031 and a 150 grain Spitzer bullet. He didn't specify which Spitzer he used and I used a Hornady SST designed for 300 Savage in order to keep the round within overall length, 2.525". Remington factory literature of the...

Ken Waters' load for this one is 32 gr of 3031 and a 150 gr bullet. Ejection is quite brisk.

Re: model 81 safety

There is a pin missing that fits between the safety and the safety rocker. It fits in the hole lowest in this pic, just below the large hole for the screw. You can fabricate this pin out of most anything. The pin locks the two halves of the safety together and it will work as designed.

Custom Rifle Project

I was asked some time back to document the progress on a custom rifle I was having built. It's a Yugoslav large ring receiver with a Douglas #1 air Guage barrel in 7mm Mauser. My smith is currently lapping the bolt lugs and shaving the extra bits off of the receiver. He'll drill the scope mount hole...

Re: 1927 Model 8 problem cycling (Jam issue)

2.525" is the correct length for 30 Rem. Hornady makes an FTX spire point for 30-30 the works well for 30 Rem. 32 grain of 3031 provides plenty of zip to work the action.

What's not to like?
