I thought about it and was a bit dismayed when I saw it on here but it goes both ways. People have posted ebay finds for me on here and I appreciated it. I was a ZEP sales rep and I have had good luck with ZEP 45 and ZEP Twister on stuck screws. I think Home Depot carries ZEP products. Where to find an extractor?
My new-to-me 1911 Model 8 won't extract and the extractor appears to be missing its edges like my 1906 which does extract. Where can I find a .35 Remington extractor?

Oh oo! Houston, we have a problem.
It feeds from the magazine but fails to extract. Looking at the profile of it compared to my 1906 Model 8, the extractor appears to have the edges missing. The extractor does have a "35" stamped on it.
Broken extractor?

New-to-me: Model 8 from 1911
This is my first Armslist.com purchase. I have only once before bought a weapon via a website that wasn't through gunbroker. The seller really set me at ease and I went for it. Model 8 from 1911. The seller had removed the rear peep so I put an ebay Lyman on it just to get the feel (I think that sel...

I have jumped on three Model 8's and 81's this year already and I'm seriously tempted to buy another.
The next time I see a decent .25 Rem and I have the cash, I'm going to go for it just like you did.
Congrats on your collection! Do you hunt with and shoot these?

BREAKTHROUGH! Well, not that one, but I think I was able to ascertain that it's not the safety blocking the bolt. I peered through the receiver slot of my Model 8 and then I knew what to look for. The stuck bolt rifle's safety isn't moving independently of the lever...so locking lugs? Now I tried th...

I had read that story before during my (complete) reading of all hunting stories on the site.
I like the Hi Viz front sight and may have to get one (or several) of those myself.
Yes, if one is a site admin one should hunt with an 8 or 81!
Very nice rifle and kill.

As soon as I get a hold of the right size of punch, I am going to remove the trigger guard and magazine and then I should have a better look at what's up.
