Re: WTS: 30-30 Remington Model 8 Barrel
Well it seems this barrel has a ringed bulge just before the muzzle. This might explain why the barrel nut will not go on. This barrel would be good candidate for a carbine modification. I also relisted it on eBay as there was not any feedback here.

Well I do not see ant indication of the resizing die hitting the case shoulder on these fired .25 Rem. brass even full length resizing. Re: 25-35 R / .32 R Barrel Assemblies
Finally shot the Model 8 25-25 Friday and it shoots pretty good for an old gun with a worn bore. I haven't ordered the .32 Remington dies and cases yet, so I have not shot it yet. The primers backed out of the .25 brass, and I have serious doubts if it was caused by pressure. Three loads, W760; H419...

I won the auction for this barrel on eBay and it has some issues. The seller insisted he wasn't aware of any and seemed like he was being honest, but it was obvious that he wasn't going to accept a return. Here is the issues imo: the barrel threads for the barrel nut got scored and the barrel nut wa...

We have a Model 81 also in .300 Savage that had a scope mount on it at one time. Like your issue I haven't been able to match it up, and I'm inclined to believe that our 81 didn't have an 81 scope mount on it, just one that fit. We have four holes, two for one end, two on the other. You can plug the...

Listing update. The .35 has been sold, the .300 Savage is available again. Listing edited accordingly. We haven't shot this one since we acquired it and probably will not. We have another .300 that we shoot that has more wear and some old screw holes in the receiver, but we like it.

25-35 R / .32 R Barrel Assemblies
As I posted in the Model 8 Forum I have a Model 8 barrel assembly in 32 Remington and bought a Model 8 in 25-35 Remington.
Should I have any concerns about swapping barrel assemblies?
Headspace, etc?
The .32 assembly does fit into the 25-35 receiver.

Remington Model 8 25-35 / .32 Remington
Being one who searches eBay for gun parts, there was a Model 8 barrel assembly listed so I bought, with the intention of parting it out. Turned out to be nice enough to keep, but our 8 & 81's are .35 & .300, so what to do. I started a search for a Model 8 in 30 Remington and there were quite...

The parts you seem to need aren't too hard to find, but to get the correct barrel nut the gun has to be disassembled.
I've seen the sights for sale on GunBroker & ebay.
My Brother and I have a Model 8 C in .35 Remington that was my Dad's. But its addictive, we also have 3 81s.
