Re: Scope mount???
Hello, Your model 8 receiver previously had a Weaver #4 side mount base ($12-$20 w/S+H) attached to the receiver. The Weaver #4 base accommodates the Weaver Detachable Side Mount with 1" Rings ($27-35 w/S+H). This is the easiest scope mount set-up to find for the Remington model 8 & 81's a...

A friend of mine calls his model 8... "The Dirty B _ _ _ _". The last word is not appropriate to write in on the forum, but you can fill in the blanks. His rifle is a dirty ol' rifle, but it does the job.

Wildgoose, That will work just fine, as the bolt carrier and bolts are the same on the model 8's and model 81's. However, I have noticed in the past that firing pin lengths will vary. Therefore, once the new firing pin and firing pin spring are installed, "push in" the bolt carrier latch ...

Re: Well Heck!
Wildgoose, That is a neat Model 8 and a great story that correlates with the September, 1930 (DY) date code on the barrel. However, the method used for the inscription on the receiver, is a tell tale sign that the inscription was done in later years by one of its previous owners, to perhaps commemo...
