Great news. I may try this if my m-81 that's caused trouble,continues to do so. Last time at the range,it ejected all but one rd. Out of quite a few. I just haven't had time to test again. I'm glad its working out for you,Dewalt. Have a great weekend everyone!

I've had the same problem with model 8 s@ winch. M-1894 s,92 s, etc. I use a quick clamp grip type bar clamp to clamp the 2 tang pieces together against the buttstock. Gary, several things might cause primers to back out. Was the ammo old? What caliber is it? It may also be excessive chamber pressure. This could be caused by a few things. Thanks cameron. I also think its an ejectorissue. But I haven't really had too many ejection problems to compare it to.and I shoot my 8/81 s alot.This is the 81 that I installed the bolt carrier latch @ spring into. Other wise it functioned great now.

Cameron, I installed the new parts in the offending M-81@ went to the range to test it today. It functioned fine except on one last shot, it left the empty brass laying on the magazine follower. Cam-do you know if those repro buttplates have the earliest address like your photo example? Or do they say rem/umc? I talked to a parts guy who says he has a mold to make the first ones but wants alot to make some up. Minimum ten or more at 30$ each.----Roger

Lil bill, I have mostly m-8 s ,but I do own 7 -m81 s@ have sold 2 that I wish I had back. None of them had sling swivels for a sling strap--- hope that helps you. Its just a small sample but its all I know about it.----Roger
