I agree with Roger, the Williams and the similar Redfield to be much more accurate and user friendly then the tang sites.

IMO since staying "original" is not the intent (practical) and based on everything else you will be doing, jeweled bolt would indeed look great - can't wait to see the pixs when you are done.

Indeed, I (and Clint) have no dog in the hunt but... I may know the seller! Near where I was raised - have two nephews and an ex-bil living in that "metropolis". (Last time I was there, they didn't even have a gas station/market!) Selling ammo at that price probably makes a house payment. ...

Oops, I guess I forgot this part. I found much to my surprise, that the A5 barrel(s) that I have, do not cross over for use on the Savage or Rem 11. Good luck at your show, it appears they are trying to make those extinct as well.

I have an 11 for HD - found that by far, the cheapest short barrel for it was a Savage. Seems folks are rather proud of their 11 barrels. YMMV

Indeed welcome. As to the screw block inside the jacket, don't know how they were fastened on but they do come off (got a couple that did, have not had the problem with others) highly recommend putting the screws back in. I have not found the screws to be long enough to get bumped by anything inside.
