I've always appreciated the design and look of them but never jumped on wanting one. There was 4-5 Model G's at a gunshop I went to in Minnesota "Boone's Fine Guns".

I had the joy of going through the Texas Ranger Hall Of Fame & Museum today.

It's a very cool place of history and having the opportunity to see my favorite type of rifle along with others firearms I favor.

I was just thinking of the mount itself. I assume it's a leupold or a redfield mount.

For some reason I had ruger on the brain.

It fit the bill for someone. I'm certainly not a fan of it though.

It's on the high end for what I have paid for non rare 8/81's. The blue seemed excellent and the overall condition is what had me jump, along with it having that peep. Did that ring the bell 9.3?

And that vintage Saturn Boone scope and mount might be worth as much as the rifle! I have to side with 81police about the collectability of that sight. Strange indeed.

Have to hand it to him that his photos represent it well!

If a prospective buyer wanted to know the original number, removal of the buttstock could reveal such information “given that’s the original trigger guard”.

Yesterday, I tried my new wood buffer that I made from a 7/8" wood dowel rod. I had also polished the chamber with a large bronze bore brush with a little Flitz paste on a patch using a drill motor. Fired 10 rounds with no problems. Gun functioned perfectly. woohoo good job getting it back int...
