As soon as it warms up a little I will take it out again. I bought a Lead Sled. Jim A great and wonderful butt pad to lessen recoil without using a 'lead sled' are 'Limb Saver' brand slip on pads. They are a quality item, around $30 on the average, but really tame recoil to the shoulder. Great prod...

Those 81's always bring high dollar $$$$$+ on GunBroker (and other sites). Have seen many of the 'bid' timing date/hour come and go with no bids. The sellers will relist many times with no bids. Trepang: According to Henwood in his Rem 8/81 book on Model 8 exterior markings, the 'trefoil' (sort of a three leaf pattern) on the trigger plate and just above it on the receiver, another 'trefoil', are the fitters stamps. Nice lookin Model 8 Trepang. When I was looking at it on GB I noticed the seller had in his heading it was a 1920 DOB, but in his description he had it was a 1922 production.
