Re: Model 8 Marble? Lyman? type peep sight question
It sounds like you have the Marble's. There is a small tang in the front of the sight on the base that needs to be pushed rearward to lock the sight in the down position. Then to get it to go in the up position, push down on the sight and pull forward on the tang. To re position the sight to where i...

Re: Buffer springs
You are correct in that the buffer spring for the smaller caliber rifles, 25, 30 and 32 REM is not as heavy as the one for the larger calibers. The smaller caliber rifles have a buffer spring that has about 7 and a half flights or rounds. The heavier buffer spring for the 35 Rem and the 300 Savage h...

Re: Safety problems. Need a fix
I'm thinking that your problem is with either the trigger or the hammer. Nothing to do with the safety. There are two catches on the hammer and the trigger. They are to catch the hammer after firing and the trigger must be released forward before the hammer can be released for the next shot. I think...

I wouldn't have a second thought about taking my model 8 in 25 REM out for a deer hunt. People deer hunt with the 223 and I have bagged two deer with the tiny 25-20. Check out the cheeks on this round knob model 11 shotgun. I think Sighthound informed us that the butt stocks of these old model 11's were interchangeable with the model 8 round knobs. The cheeks are not as long as the model 8 example here, but they are pointed and not rounded. http://www.gunbroker....

There is a force here on planet earth called gravity.
