.25/.30/and .32 strippers.

I have found a way to cheaply mass produce stripper clips for them. If someone can send the dimensions of an original I would greatly appreciate it. Namely length, width of clip, width at ears, and spacing from end of clip to ears. They will be ugly as sin, but functional, and I will send them to an...

Here are a few ads from when the model 8 was still newfangled: ENJOY! http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g27/aguy123/GEDC0559.jpg http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g27/aguy123/GEDC0560.jpg http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g27/aguy123/GEDC0563.jpg http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g27/aguy123/GEDC056...

My praise of Saint John Browning and his hallowed model 8...

http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g27/aguy123/glockv1911.jpg Forgive me all for my constant posting. But I have serious feelings for these old workhorses. My model 8 was made in April of 1929, and is an honest 2 MOA rifle, with nary a malfunction as yet. As Mitch can attest after owning this rifle,...

The ports on the carb do need to be blown out quite frequently to keep her running. But frankly, compared to the rest of my life the farm is a little slice of heaven.

I'll give you a little hint... They were made from 1948-1955, and they have a 4 cylinder continental engine that makes a whopping 9hp at the draw bar...

This is the best I can come up with thus far. Though notice that there is a Stevens scope and mount for the Remington autoloaders! http://media.photobucket.com/image/stevens%20425/GeneBB/Stevens%2520425/425catalog0004.jpg http://media.photobucket.com/image/stevens%20425/GeneBB/Stevens%2520425/425cat...

Stevens lever action in Remington rimless???

I found mention of J. Stevens producing a line of lever action rifles in .25/.30/and .32 Remington from 1910-1918. Does anyone have any information, or maybe a photo or two of one?

Has anyone tried Speer 110 grain JHP's in .30?

I've had really good luck with them in .30 '06, and would think launching them at ~2,800 FPS from a model 8 would do the trick on just about anything I'd need to shoot. Anyone have any experience?

Does anyone happen to have one laying about? And Mitch, if you see this, is that little central pin still in there, or did I lose it at some point?

I've never used them out of an 8 or 81, but the 200 grain Remington Core-lokt's work great out of a 336.

Re: I may just be the happiest man on Earth!

We shall see when the rifle gets back. Until then, I suppose I'll be using the 11-87 and some buckshot. By the way, the pretty knife has been relegated to sitting around looking pretty, and I'm using an ugly blade I forged from an old harrow tooth.

There is film of two gentlemen on the firing line at the 34 minute mark of the show. They appear to be stock model 8's other than the tangent rear sights.

I didn't have alot of time to play around with it, but the cobbled together .30 I sold to Mitch would at least put them on a paper plate at 50. I'm sure with a little work it could be tightened up a bit.

I suppose some of the guys from the old board may remember me. I'm sure I did business with most of them at one time or another. I currently am 8/81-less which is a very sad state of affairs. That will be rectified eventually though.

When I lived in WI several years ago I sold to a gentleman in CA a 32 caliber model 81 and a rather beat up 30 caliber model 8. If you are him please contact me. 440-413-6483 I am the one who sent you the French lebel riffle and the other 30 caliber model 8.
