Extractors on the 35 Rem are usually straight not curved. Trouble is the 300 Sav is straight too. And the 300S is slightly larger ID bolt face. About .006. I miked all three. 25-30-32Rem have a smaller bolt face than both. 300 Sav might work with 35Rem, don't know haven't tried it yet.

Sarge,
You have the packaging idea right, and by the way FEDEX takes 8-12 weeks to pay insurance. IF the insurance guy can be bullied into it. they spend a lot of time denying your claim.

I think you got a good deal. FBI style sling swivels, Weaver scope (likely 2.5 or 3X), 35 Rem caliber, and the wood looks like it's not below the metal from sanding. Check to see if the numbers all match. :ugeek: Weaver scope if OK sells for about $75-100. Scope rings about $20 Sling eyes usually go...

the problem with the bolt is not hard, pull the bolt back about half way, take a wood dowel or something non-scratch and rotate the bolt lugs vertical. Charlie, I think from the photos and your notes your chamber may just a little different than standard. I agree that a bore-scope may be in order. Just the same, if you don't use max loads, neck size to the top shoulder, and remember to fireform new brass, there should be little problem. Eventually ...

The reason for some of the questions: I have a dozen 270 cases I cannot use, my father in law full length resized down to the shell holder. The firing pin just barely touches the primer. WAY TOO much. Over sized cases can separate and blow back on you. As said before the right way is to size without...

Is this the first firing after sizing from 30R to 25R? If so are you using a fire forming load or a full load the first time? Are you running the sizer die all the way down to the shell holder? ( not recommended, the first time the case is sized smaller they should only be sized till the empty brass...

One of the issues that can cause this is if someone has stoned the trigger or hammer hooks to lighten the trigger pull. The safety lever may have twisted on the shaft, I've seen this on a rifle or 2. You might check the screw that holds the trigger spring and the Main spring is tight, it's the secon...

Jerry, I've one that looks just like yours on a Model8, depends on the actual dimensions. If you are fitting a reproduction stock it will be easier to use the plastic ones. I think the model 8 has pieces riveted inside the receiver. Just as the 870 ejector is riveted. they can be replaced but it requires a blue job after riveting.
