Scoped Model 81
Have had this 81 in 300 Sav for several years and was on the lookout for a scope for it. I wanted it to fit the rifle and not overpower it. Found this Williams Guideline 2x6 variable with duplex reticle. Not a lot of history available on this branded scope but I would think probably made in Japan du...

Yes, a good job of clean-up. Not that you don`t already know you got a heck of a deal on this one I`ve included a link to one that sold recently that was a 30-30. It ,unlike yours, had been drilled for a scope mount and had a recoil pad installed with both being detractors. My interest in it was tha...

Re: 1950 Marlin 336A half-tube .35 Rem
With the "bargain basement"price you paid for it you certainly have room for some accoutrements. Popularity of the 336 means that your search won`t be long. Williams and Lyman currently produce the receiver (peep) sight for it . Listings on Fleabay for both, with the Williams the cheaper o...

Not turning this into a Marlin Forum but want to send congrads to Adam on acquiring a fine rifle in a great caliber at a fantastic price. Truth be known we probably have the 336 and it being chambered in 35Rem to thank for the availability of factory ammo to feed our 8`s and 81`s. These two were not...

Re: Reloading for the 1900 (35 Rem)
We`ve had this subject come up in the past as to whether our old guns will stand up to higher pressures and velocities than what was around way back when. Often the questions concern Hornady`s Leverevolution ammo and whether it is safe to shoot. The consensus has been that the FN`s,8`s and 81`s are ...

Nope, the guy at the Gunshow may have stayed at a Holiday Inn Express but he doesn`t know what he is talking about. The chamberings for the model eight that share virtually the same ballistics as those offered by Winchester are: 25 Remington (25-35 Win), 30 Remington (30-30 Winchester) and 32 Reming...

Would have to be careful about watchin that saw work and the rythimic sound it makes as it would be easy to get lulled to sleep. Neat train. What fuel do you use?

From the photo of the brass retaining ring for the lens and small adjustment caps would make this as an early K model Weaver.
