drwoz, you have a very low serial number rifle, in my humble opinion I would not reblue it but keep it in its original condition. I would appreciate you emailing me regarding the condition of this rifle,

thought of another idea, pictures of the best / nicest original 8/81 standard A grade wood...or 8/81 with the most tapped receiver holes. Just some thoughts.

I've noticed on a few model 8's that the bolt carrier is cracked or chipped on the top portion of the extractor lip groove. I'm not sure exactly what causes this, maybe you gunsmiths can provide some insight, but it seems to occur in the same area on the bolt carrier on early model 8's. I don't thi...
