Hey Luke, Welcome to the forum. Thank you for your service! You are at the right spot to learn about these rifles. The 35 is a good round and you can still buy ammo for it. The 25 is a good round but finding ammo is tough. Reloading can help sove that problem. We will look forward to seeing some add...

Sights for Model 8

Hey Guys,

Someone recently was asking about the sights that came on the model 8. I found the attached literature in some of my papers onthe model 8. Note the prices way back then!

The saga continues. I cannot tell you when I decided to put together the first grouping of rifles. I do remember that the early years went very slow and I had not got the bug to put together a set. I think that getting John Henwood’s book was the main factor in getting serious about collecting the R...

Hey Guys, When I started putting these sets together, I thought with all the rifles in my collection it would be easy. But, I soon found out it would require a lot of work. It would require the handling of more than 220 rifles, examining and separating them based on condition, caliber, grade and uni...

Hey canuck, Thanks for the comments and questions. At the age of 76, I have been with guns as far back as I can remember. These pins are meant to be loose. They cannot come out once the bolt is inplace. I would suggest that you remove the blue loctite and polish the pins as you first found them. Under no circumstances should you use JB Weld to hold these pins in place!!!

Good Luck.

The swivel is in the correct place if it is on the barrel jacket. That is why the hole was placed in that position. The swivel was never intended to be in the wood on the forearm on the 81’s.
