Hey Carl,
I am sorry that you reduced your herd. That means you will be roaming the range to find a replacement.
I am glad that you got something you were wanting. Just remember that all of the acquisitions are investment, some are better than others!

Hey olskool,
That is a boat to be proud of!! When I lived in Georgia, I use to make regular trips to Edisto Island. A close friend had a home just off the beach. We would fish the Edisto River and had a great time. We would set crab traps and enjoy the good eating.

Hey Bob, You are right about not listing the 1943. It was not an oversight. I would take one regardless of the barrel codes but doubt that will ever happen since there were only 4 made that year. You may have to push the tab to get it to stay. I have some that you do not have to push as they seem to be spring loaded; others I have to assist.

There should be a small tab at the base of the sight. It may be stuck. You need to use your thumb nail and pull the tab. This will release the sight to either fold or lay down.

Hey Guys, I made a similar post a couple of years ago and I was able to acquire one of the rifles. The list is getting shorter. I will consider trading rifles. Hey Eric,
You can find these springs listed occasionally on Gun Broker. There are also some members who list them from time to time. You can try contacting members; S and S Huntclub or Robopump for spare parts. Both of these guys are honest and trustworthy. They won't sell junk!

Hey Hester, As I had suspected. Your spring has been broken and someone attempted a "fix". if the rifle cycles with the fix, you are fortunate. The spring should be of the same material and not have a piece added as yours does. Most broken springs occur in the area of your fix. Try it and if...

Hey lotsagas4u, Welcome to the Forum. Price is dependent on condition and how bad you want the rifle. I would think this would be on the upper end for this rifle. The early models did not have springs and were configured a little different from the later models which had springs. Personally, I would stay with the firing pin of the period.
