I started loading using a CH Press my parents had bought for me. My brother had a Lyman Spartan press. He decided we needed a Dillon which was new at the time and we ended up with a used press. He moved up to Saint Augustine and I was still in Ft Lauderdale, FL. I then bought a hardly used Lyman Spa...

The Lyman "M" die doesn't actually flare the case mouth it has a step in it and expands the very top of the case. Redding sells a spacer kit. Seat the bullet with the spacer then remove the spacer and crimp, but you will have to unscrew the seating die. Yes unless you're taper crimping it is best to...

Redding dies, good for you, that's what I have. I don't load rifle ammo on the Dillon, the Dillon powder measure doesn't like extruded powder, well no powder measure does. Loading the .32 Remington shouldn't present any problems. I had a .32 barrel assembly and loaded some up, but have parted with the barrel assembly. Considering that old gun cleaning solvent dries up like shellac, and gun oil turns into gum oil, its a good idea to take apart these old Remington's and clean them. Lyman and Marbles made a tang sight that used the existing hole where the tang becomes the receiver. Redfield made a more correctly named receiver sight which required a second hole be drilled and tapped like the OP's gun. Williams also made a receiver sight, more then likely after WWII. This sight ...

with the safety down you should be able to see the hammer if it is not cocked. And if it is in the fired position then the riffle cannot go off as you do not know if its loaded.
The safety level isn't loose is it?

Re: Bolt will not retract

If this "E" Grade is in good condition I think that the bolt is glued in place from dried up solvent, which turns into something similar to dried shellac. The only thin locking the bolt is the safety/rocker and if that moves the bolt should retract. I'd take the barrel assembly off and spray some Gu...

What I'd probably do is try a little heat with a butane lighter. Soaking it is also a good idea.
Old bore cleaner dried up hard like shellac, and you're right most of these rifles have never been disassembled.
You should already have or you can remove the firing pin.

I'm pretty sure ours, my brother and I as this was Dad's, is correct as the stock is marked inside as an 8 C which was a higher grade of wood and checkered, probably a standard pattern. I doubt if Remington would have checkered up to the takedown swivel screw.

There is one issue that makes these guns erratic. Open the bolt and look inside, if you see the magazine indicator spring on top of the bolt guides that's the problem.
When reassembling these gun that spring fits into a small slot and has a tendency to slip out when assembling.
