Interestingly, Jordan's 1934 article states that Hamer was put on the far end, because of his reputation as a marksman.
I thought that was strange, since Jordan then states that Hamer was armed with a shotgun...

I have a Model 11 police model; a 31 (16gauge), 760 Carbine (.30'06); 7400 (.243); 1100 (12 gauge, w/Choate accessories) and a 700BDL (.30'06) in addition to my 81 in .35 caliber.

My first (and only) Model 81 was a .35, manufactured in September of 1938. I purchased it from its original owner, an elderly gentleman at a gun show in Sauk Prairie WI.
