Model 8 #25

This rifle currently resides in Canada and was shared with me by its owner. What a great piece of early production Model 8 history!

** This is NOT the earliest Model 8 we have witnessed here at the Great Model 8, that prize goes to rifle # 7 (we've also seen rifle # 24).

Re: Model 8, feed lip (magazine side spring) woes - help

Hey Craig, all Model 81's were made with double side spring magazines.

Model 8's were initially made with no side springs, then later 1 side spring, then even later 2 side springs!

Hey BZimm, welcome to the forums! Congrats on your first 81! Does the brass bolt go all the way through the body of the magazine limiting the capacity? I can definitely load an 8/81 with a stripper clip much faster than single loading.

The clips are a very cool feature of an autoloading sporting rifle and one of the things that gives the 8/81 a cool nostalgic feel.
