Ammo for the autoloaders
Took me awhile to gather these "sets" of the calibers. I only had to go through online sales for a couple of them.
I could better a few of the boxes but I would have a tough time paying the prices that nicer examples would bring!

Good morning Terry.
Welcome to the forum. It's perfectly fine to share photographs of your rifle to inquire information. I know I don't speak for myself, when I say "let's see your Model 8."

Figured id post this one up. https://www.guns.com/firearms/rifles/semi-auto/fn-model-1900-35-rem-5-rounds-22-barrel-used?p=1150398 Few hiccups with the gun, no major issues that I could see. They're a new (re)production that are nearly identical to the originals. Guess i could message the seller to find out. Getting firsthand knowledge from the group is good though.

Good morning gents. I realized the other day that I never had any decent photos of this rifle that I picked up in 2019. Good evening, Troy. I certainly understand wanting to make your rifle complete. Having a factory rear sight on hand for it is a great idea. It certainly appears that it gave many years of service and or didn't have the level of care that some would expect. Regardless, it's a cool gun.

Thanks for the answers. The serial number is 2692 and I don't know the safety types, but I'm assuming it is early. Condition is amazing (to me). By the way, 30-30 Rem is engraved. Re: Model 8 30-30 Remington
Welcome to the forum! You have an early gun with an uncommon caliber designation stamped on it. 1907 there was hand engraved caliber designation on the earliest of guns. After that they started stamping 30-30 Rem on the barrel extension. I can't say with full certainty but before 1907 was over they ...

Re: This hurts physically. Why, oh why?????
Unfortunately, some of these get modifications that hurt collectability and value. At that time though, the hunter/shooter had done to his rifle what he wanted to. Fitting a more pleasing butt plate/pad would improve the look of the buttstock. The scope mount isn't an easy on to source. I can only a...

Yes, that is the correct method to put a scope into a Stith mount.
I can't comment on when rifle scopes started using nitrogen. I can say that I have no problems with my replacement scope that I put in my Stith mount " Weaver K-2.5".
