Re: Semi rough shape 1900 on the auction block

Did you get it Hibby? Going to Minnesota $600 was a pretty good price (esp in Kanukastan dollars), of course taxes, buyers fee and shipping will add close to 40% to the price - still not bad The Model 8 went for a thousand :? Hey, no I didn't. I hadn't even registered for the auction. That Model 8 s...

Re: Dating my Model 8

Welcome to the forum. There are characteristics that can help you be sure of your date of manufacture. If the rifle is a 4 digit serial # " 14xx" then it would be a first year production. Prior to 1921 Remington didn't use the date code system, the stamp on your rifle could be a repair code "when it...

Didn't take long for that stock to sell? When I follow the link it works but if I search for it using the exact keywords it doesn't populate.

I had just seen a Model 81 parts gun sans the receiver sell for $360.00. It didn't look better than fair condition in the photos.

Re: Rough shape 1900 on the auction block

WOW! Do you think you could share the serial number with us for our FN 1900 database? It's serial #2007. Upon closer examination I can't tell if the buttstock had some filler added where the comb meets the wrist. I can see a faint bit of checkering left on the grip, the finish doesn't match the for...

I found this 1900 the other day. It looks like it has led kind of a rough life. I'm on the fence as to whether I want to bid or not. The custom buttstock is definitely interesting as well as the choice of rear sight that replaced the original.

Here's an interesting custom stocked Model 8 I found on a auction site the other day. I'm not sure if it has a longer than normal length of pull, it may just me the long pistol grip throwing off the scale.

engraved lady "d" 4 grade

Hello everyone. This is my newly acquired high "or is it hunting :D" grade Model 8 from 1911, it's chambered in the venerable 35 Remington. The firearm has the Lyman receiver sight, a flat sided oval rear sight blank and a Lyman #5 globe flip front sight. I'm excited to have found an engraved model ...

Be careful Hibby. Around here we talk of a sickeness called "Jackitis". It's a disorder where 8/81 collecting becomes uncontrollable. There is no known cure, just ask forum member Jack1653! Haha. I may just have this disorder... My overall plan is to find the 32 Remington to complete the Model 8 se...

Noticed you got one with the top-toe buttplate that is a good find. & in 25 Rem, had one almost the same & had to trade for a Inglis. It too has JMB designs. Good luck with the pair, watch out though, they'll soon be whining  for their relatives. Then infect you with Jackitis :!:  :!: Tha...

I received The Great Remington 8 book from my parents for my birthday. My mother was very fortunate to have found it new and at a un-inflated price. Re: gunbroker--problems

What I do is I start at the main breakdown search. I search under semi auto rifles. I then filter the search by using Remington as the manufacturer and then pick the caliber of choice, and once I exhaust the search for “25 Remington” I’ll go onto the next chambering of choice. The only firearms that...

I imagine the quest for all of these to include the friendships and the stories must have made building your arsenal very rewarding & quite the experience.

Good evening everyone. I have a lead on what I’m sure is a Krieger converted model 8 in 35 Remington. They didn’t have anything put in their ad about it, but it definitely has a removable magazine. It’s in average shape and no extra holes in the receiver, it has a white line butt and the addition of...
