Re: A Saga of three of our Ladies

Three beautiful ladies with history! As Cameron said, if only they could talk! It's hard to believe these ladies "service rifles" flew under the radar! Sometimes you get lucky. Here's an auction photo of the one "as Phyrbird eloquently named it Contessa" that made it's way to the commonwealth after ...

That would be interesting.

I "personally" like the look of the magazine being flush with the trigger guard.

I've had thoughts of getting a spare magazine and hiring my gunsmith to recreate the detachable mag in Krieger fashion. I have a spare trigger guard for him to play with, partly there. :D

Welcome to the board Golphin.

If I was to pick one favorite round they chambered these, it would be 35 Rem. Cool to hear you have an early one. This forum is surely the best for finding out anything about these classic rifles.

Perhaps you could share a photo of the your Autoloading rifle.

Very tight barrel nut

I recently acquired a 1907 Model 8 with the 30-30 Rem stamp on the barrel. I'm happy with the overall condition inside and out " it's pretty much all apart now". I noticed that the barrel nut wasn't fully seated so I attempted to use my CBR tool. After the first full turn it got tighter than I could...

Welcome to the forum. There are characteristics that can help you be sure of your date of manufacture. If the rifle is a 4 digit serial # " 14xx" then it would be a first year production. Prior to 1921 Remington didn't use the date code system, the stamp on your rifle could be a repair code "when it...

I found this 1900 the other day. It looks like it has led kind of a rough life. I'm on the fence as to whether I want to bid or not. The custom buttstock is definitely interesting as well as the choice of rear sight that replaced the original.
