Re: LEO’s that Purchased Police 8/81’s
Shooting my Model 8 at the range a few weeks ago I had an elderly man come over and tell me, "That's a Remington Model 8, isn't it?" He said that he had retired from the Pitt County (NC) Sheriff's department and that they'd had several with 15 round magazines marked Property Of... He said ...

Re: Model 8 carry bag
The 22" version of these works very well - and already has a divider: https://www.midwayusa.com/product/93929 ... rifle-case

Re: Trigger frozen
Don't have K31 magazines, but I believe I *do* have a couple charging clips if those are of interest...
Edit for shameless sharing of M8 picture. It's like having kids. You think everyone wants to see pictures of them.

Re: Headspace issue on Model 8 32 Rem
If it is a headspace issue you can fireform brass to fit just that rifle - essentially treat it like a wildcat. Because the cartridge is obsolete it's essentially a wildcat anyway and you don't have to worry about someone firing factory ammo in the out-of-spec chamber. Since you are forming from a m...

Re: Trigger frozen
Thanks VERY much Sarge & Phyrbird. I swooped on the one that was on ebay so I think I'll be in good shape. I don't have any spare Model 8/81 parts to trade (yet), but I'm up to my eyeballs in Mauser parts if you all find yourself in need of something there. I also have some Win 94 bits & pie...

Resolution! Re: Trigger frozen
The barrel catch spring broke right at the dimple that is wedged in the retaining recess. After it broke it found its way into the hammer spring and wedged between it and the trigger - hence frozen trigger. I suspect this isn't the first time this happened as the spring is shorter than what I see in...

Re: Trigger frozen
Thanks for the help, Sarge!
Will report back when I figure it out.
I did (finally) take it down. I appears that the bolt may not be turning in its spiral broach.
It's in too nice of shape to whittle on with the wrong screwdrivers and so I'll have to wait!

Trigger frozen
Shot my Model 8 this weekend, but not as much as I'd planned to. After about 10 shots the trigger froze. It won't budge. Bolt seems to operate normally, and I can feel it through the trigger I assume vial interaction with the hammer. It looks like I'll be taking this one apart. I'd hoped to avoid it...
