Re: Remington's Models 14 and 141
I’ve been watching GB too lately. I’ve been itching for a 14/141 in .30 Rem. There was a nice 14 in 25 recently, but didn’t want invest in getting another caliber loaded. I already reload for 20 other calibers! Due to budgetary constraints, I usually look for shooter grade rifles. As long as they ha...

Howdy all! Been a while since I posted here. Got busy last couple years shooting 308’s and 300 Win Mags at tiny targets a ways out there. Been frustrated with current state of ammo and reloading supply availability. Can’t find .358” 200 Gr round noses to save my life! My 141 is hungry! Did find a go...

Re: Remington's Models 14 and 141
I’ve got two 141’s. One in 32, one in 35. Love them dearly. Very accurate. As the owner of an 8 and 81 also, both in 30 Rem, id say the pumps are more accurate. If you don’t reload, the 35 Rem is the way to go. I owned an 81 in 35 and can personally state that the pump rifles recoil less. The 35 Rem...

Congrats Jack! Now that is my kind of shopping spree! Are any of those going to be shot or just safe queens? :D And to curdog, you have trouble finding the Hornady .321" flat points? Thanks for the suggestions. Like I stated before, I had new brass, that wad only on its second loading. I found a second case tonight that had cracked but not separated. That may help. As to the age question of the brass, the first round that separated was new brass I got at Midway last month, only on its second firing. Howdy all, Had a rough weekend at the range with my Model 8 I got back in January. I've shot around 100 rounds through since I got it with zero problems or jams, till yesterday. Got my new 141 Transitional model in 35 out to the range last Sunday. Very Happy! Six shots with 36 grains of H4895 and the 200 gr Hornady RN. This was at 50 yards, still need to try it at 100 yards. There is something about hunting with these Remingtons. I hunted in Texas this year with my Model 8 made in 1912, also in 30. In 2015, I took one of the biggest racked bucks I've ever shot with my 1950 Remington 81 in 30. This year, my newly acquired 1918 Model 8 in 32 Rem will be accompanying me. I...

Added two in the last couple weeks, an 8 in 32, and a 141 in 35. So I'm up to one 81 (30 Rem), 2 model 8's (30&32 Rem), and two 141 pumps (32&35 Rem).

Even the latest Hornady reloading manual, #10, under data for the 25/35 Winchester says that the data may be used for the 25 Rem. That'll include data for the latest modern powders like Lever. I've never loaded the 25, but have loaded for the 30,32 and 35's. I swore by IMR 3031 until I tried Lever.

I do use my seating die, Lee brand, for the 30/30 instead of the RCBS seater because the Lee die is a no tool adjustment for seating depth, I really dislike the wrench/screwdriver for adjusting the RCBS. Works good.

I do enjoy both the pumps and autos. Some days I have a hard time deciding which I like better! Therefore, I collect both! They are so uniquely different that other than caliber, they may as well not even be made by the same company, not like the 742/760's or 7400/7600's.

The Model 8 32 Rem went to the range today. 53 rounds, zero malfunctions. And this one is a shooter! It really liked 32 grains of H4895 with the 165 grain Hornady FTX. That's 5 shots at 50 yards. Not bad.

I also have had a few boxes of the FMJ ammo in the standard green boxes. 160 grain bullets if I recall correctly. I read somewhere that guys in the fur trade years ago liked to use the FMJ loadings to minimize pelt damage. Sounds logical, but I have no real evidence to substantiate that.
