Model 81 Krieger magazine conversion

I have my 81 in 300 savage for sale on gunbroker. This a very nice 81. Will sell to a forum member 1300.00 shipped. The only reason I am selling I am 80, a heart attack, triple by pass and a failed pacemaker. The recoil is a bit too much. Check it out.

Re: My New Model 8 Needs Some Wood

Remington stocks are really not interchangeable, the usually do not fit just right. I would get a new stock from Macon Gunstocks or fit a Browning auto five stock. If you are going to use the time to fit a stock I get a higher grade wood. For the same amount of work you end up with a more attractive...

Your best source for parts is Ebay. Macon Gunstocks I think has wood. Go ahead and refinish because only mint to new model 8 and 81 have any value. You can get ammo from Graf and Sons and Buffalo Arms. Use military grade primers to prevent slam fires. I know most people do not have any trouble but w...

Re: detachable magazines

I think you can do it using assorted sharp files and hand grinder. As to the side springs I was thinking of heat sinking the upper and silver solder them on. The location is critical so some precise measurements would be required. You could put a pin in and use silver solder to reinforce it. A rivet...

It could be firing out of battery. Are you using military grade primers? The model 8 will indent the primers upon loading and May Fire out of battey.
