Re: Jack-Itis and my first Krieger!

Awsome find! I hope you find a magazine soon. There has to be one out there somewhere. Took my Krieger out for a spin last week, she sure didn't disappoint. The more I shoot these old rifles, the more I respect I have for the old rifle craftsmen and what went into building them. Good shooting!

Re: Went ahead and hit "buy now."

Had my eye on it. Nice buy. Looked pretty good. Wonder what the repair code was for? Maybe it was for putting on that sweet sight. Enjoy

New company for my 35 rem. Krieger conversion 300 savage

I was fortunate to find a 1946 Remington model 81 Krieger conversion in 300 savage. The metal is awesome but someone refinished the stock. They did a nice job however. My 35 Remington now has a companion. They look awfully pretty together. I took it out last week and put a box of Remington 150's thr...

Re: Need 300 savage bolt assembly

Thank you sir for the reply. It is exactly what I need. I have a lead on just the carrier and will be detailed out east until this month's end and will be waiting until then. I did see the stock set also. Needing that as well. I hope you have a pleasant holiday. Thanks, Jim.

Need 300 savage bolt assembly

Hello all. Does anyone have a bolt assembly for sale for a 300 savage? I have a crack at the top of mine and I am fearful to shoot it. I do have 20 rounds of 30 remington to sweeten the deal. If anyone can help a new model 81 fan out I would greatly appreciate it. Sincerely, Jim.

Need help. 81 stock

Hello all. I need some guidance. I am still new to the forum but I am hooked on these model 81's. I have found a model 81 in 300 savage. (Just a shooter) Bad news, the stock and forearm (cracked) and butchered. They rattle worse than my first Mercury I owned. Long story short, can anyone guide me to...

Re: Model 8 & 81's in movies?!?

I know I am new to the site, however I believe I saw either a Remington model 8 or 81 in the movie Mighty Joe Young (1949). It was in an African scene when some men went to talk to the lead female role visiting the ranch. Several men were carrying rifles. They left their rifles by the gate as the le...

First model 81. Thanks for a great site.

Hello all. Very excited to be a privileged owner of a 1941 Remington model 81 chambered in 35 remington. I walked into a small gun store 14 years ago and placed my grimey hands on a model 81. I was there to pick up a carbine and remember the heft and workmanship of the remington. I put it down and r...
